Panetonne is a great morning treat just toasted with a little butter.  This recipe is something that we came up one morning when the kids wanted French Toast and we had no bread.  Now it is a weekend favorite.

Ingredients

1  Panettone
6 large eggs
3/4 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup sugar
¼ cup orange juice
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Powdered sugar
1 cup of your favorite fresh berries

Procedure

Cut the paneetonne  into 6 thick slices (about ¾ to 1 inch thick)  In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, then add the cream, milk, and sugar, orange juice, vanilla, cinnamon and whisk until well mixed. Over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter on a large nonstick pan or griddle. . Dip a slice ot panettone into the egg mixture, turn and repeat. Place the Panetonne into the buttered pan and cook until it is golden brown,  about 3 to 4 minutes per side.  Cook each slice adding a little more butter when cooking each slice.  Serve with butter, syrup, fresh berries and a dusting of powdered sugar.
